2016 Volkswagen MKVII GTI - Casandra -

Casandra’s 2015 Volkswagen MK7.5 GTI

The beloved MK7 was introduced in Berlin on September 4th 2012, and 2014 in the States. It easily became one of the best selling hot hatches of all time. The Volkswagen gave the new generation of Golf’s the sharpest edges we have ever seen to date. Though similar in concept, it was completely independent from the more round and curvy of the previous generations. Some might even go as far as to say the MK7 is the best looking generation, even considering the new MK8 Golf.
Powering the Golf is a turbocharged 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 170hp while the Golf Grand Tourer Injection, or GTI, gets a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that gets 217hp. The GTI has an optional performance package that increases horsepower output to 220hp. Both hatchbacks are one of the quickest cars in its class with the 2016 Golf going from zero to 60 in 7.8 seconds and the 2016 GTI reaching 60 mph in just 6.1 seconds.

This months features were the closest match up we’ve had from start to finish. We’re familiar with the participants, and very much appreciative of their constant support. Casandra and her MK7.5 took the lead towards the end and became our latest monthly feature for the "Lady Driven" Month of June.
Personally, the best first step in any build would be to lower the vehicle and fill the space between the fender and tire. As we all know, wheel gap kills and Casandra choose to eliminate the dreaded wheel gap with a simple setup of coilovers. Nothing to fancy, yet very much accomplishes the goal. With a set of MT10 WCI wheels and this GTI is already on its was to standing out. These are a set of wheels you don't see as often as they’re quite frequently overshadowed by other brands and their selections. All the more ways to standout and look just as good.
Speaking of looks, the MK7.5 has a rear quarter panel perfect for wraps and vinyls. It’s a popular section to wrap in the MK7 community and is a good way to implement a personal touch while still maintaining the original color of the car. Casandra took full advantage of this and converted a would be plain section into what we believe gives the GTI the most character, the purple wrapped quarter panel. This look gave Casandra the title of “The girl from Kickass” in the car scene.

Now this GTI is not all looks as it may seem to be. Casandra is currently running a FBO Stage 2 Revo and pushing upwards of around +320hp from the stock 217hp. In the near future, Casandra is planning on pushing the sporty GTI further with a I38 Hybrid big turbo and a wide-body kit to go with it so stay tuned for that!! We will be sure to update her feature when that time comes.
