2008 Volkswagen MKV Golf R32 - Stephanie -

The year is 2008. You walk into a Volkswagen dealership and you tell a salesman “I want the fastest and best performing Golf VW produces”. You also make it clear that money is not an issue. He walks you over to a vehicle sitting on the showroom floor. Glistening with the over head lights reflecting off its famous deep blue metallic paint. Its the Volkswagen R32. With the updated 3.2L VR6 from its predecessor, it'll take you from 0-60 in about 5.8secs all the way to an electronically governed 155mph. This hatchback’s iconic VR6 produces 247bhp which is roughly 10 more horses than the VR6 that was in the MK4 R32 before it. With those horses some decent stopping power is required and that’s provided by 13.58 in discs in the front and 12.20in in the rear. The R32 also comes standard with a Haldex Traction based 4motion part-time AWD.

Unfortunately the R32 is the last of its kind with a total of 5,000 MK5 R32s ever made, each having its production number laser etched on its steering wheel. The MK5 R32 has been succeeded by the MK6 Golf R which done away with the VR6 and instead has been replaced with a 2.0 turbocharged engine. In terms of performance, this is an improvement, but all of the outstanding qualities of the VR6, including its desirable exhaust notes, where traded in for efficiency.

For December’s feature, we decided do to things a little differently. We hand picked 3 runner ups from our monthly polls that we believed deserved a 2nd chance at our Car Of The Month. Those honorable mentions were @Pachanga_r32 @R32_queen and @Veeduber_cnurney. These were some of our favorite features we done so far. When they did not win their initial polls, we had to give them another chance. It was a close match up to the very end. As per the results, it was the queen herself who took the win. We would like to give Stephanie a big thank you for not only sharing her build with us, but also being our special 12 out of 12 of our monthly features!

For this special edition feature we have Stephanie and her beautifully built Candy white MK5 R32 with a Production number of 4,562. Built with one of the cleanest engine bays yet. Figuratively and literally. Under the hood you’ll find a spotless, fully shaved bay and wire tuck highlighting the iconic VR6 in all its glory. The naturally aspirated V6 is accompanied by custom headers and custom intake manifolds tuned by United Motorsports.

There will always be a debate about which type of suspension setup is the best, when truthfully we all know it comes down to either personal taste, the type of build or just the car itself. In the case of this R32, Stephanie’s preference for eliminating wheels gaps is through her 3p Airlift Management kit fitted by our friends over at Luft Technik, along with the shaved bay. The tanks in the trunk makes for a really unique setup. Its personalized with her name on the 1st tank and a "Her's" on the second. This is in reference to another friend of ours, and Stephanie's significant other, @Grounded_GLI. His Jetta GLI is mounted with a 3pc Airlift Management labeled "His". A dope couple's setup hands down. At a standstill, Stephanie's R32 can air out and sit perfectly flushed on a set of black Rotiform Nues. You really can’t go wrong with this setup. It looks amazing and it just works.

With this being our December feature, that concludes our polls for “Car of The Month” for the year of 2020. A trying time for us all to say the least. Since doing live events was not in everyone’s best interest we did our best to keep things fun and interesting virtually with the power of the internet all while sharing the story behind some of our Euro communities builds by doing these monthly polls. We took great pride in making sure that quality was the upmost priority when writing these features. We know the sweat and hard work that goes into each and everyone of your builds and we wanted these features to reflect that.

@R32_Queen
All of us in Euromocracy believe that this R32 is the perfect grand finale and want to thank everyone who’s supported us and this journey. It’s not quite over yet though. Out of all of our 12 car of the month feature we will be putting them all head to head tournament style in one last major series of polls to declare the title of Euromocracy’s “Car Of The Year” for exclusive prizes and gifts. So stayed tuned for that. Although this series is coming to an end we’re just getting started and for 2021 we’re doing things a little different so stay tuned for that. Thank you all again for sticking around with us on this chapter of our journey. We’re just getting started.
